- Dental Crowns
A crown is used to repair a broken tooth. It covers the tooth like a cap to protect it from further damage and keep your smile looking great. Crowns are also the final restoration step after you get a dental implant. They attach to the implant and replace your missing tooth.
- Dental Bridges
A dental bridge is essentially a partial denture that attaches to your natural teeth. The bridge is made up of crowns which can sit in place of your missing teeth and restore your smile.

Crowns
A crown is a custom cap that covers a damaged, cracked or heavily filled tooth so you can chew on it again without worrying. It is also the final piece of a root canal or a dental implant. Porcelain and zirconia crowns are shade-matched to your natural teeth; for many teeth a same-day crown is available.
Bridges
A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth without surgery. The teeth on either side of the gap are crowned, and the replacement tooth is joined to them as one piece. It restores chewing, keeps the neighboring teeth from drifting into the gap and is fitted over a small number of visits.
If the teeth beside the gap are healthy and untouched, an implant-supported bridge may be the better option, because it does not require reshaping them. We offer both and will show you the trade-offs.
What to expect
Exam & planning. X-rays, a look at the bite and a conversation about what you want. You leave with a written plan and cost.
Preparation. Under local anesthetic, the supporting teeth are shaped and a digital scan or impression is taken. A temporary protects the teeth while the final restoration is made.
Fitting. The crown or bridge is checked for fit, bite and shade, then bonded in place.
Questions people ask
What is the difference between a crown and a bridge?
A crown covers a single damaged tooth. A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring a false tooth to crowns on the teeth either side of the gap, or to dental implants.
How long do crowns and bridges last?
With good brushing, flossing under the bridge and regular checkups, crowns and bridges commonly last many years. Grinding, chewing ice and skipping checkups shorten that.
Bridge or dental implant: which should I choose?
A bridge is quicker and does not require surgery, but it relies on the neighboring teeth being reshaped. An implant leaves the neighboring teeth untouched and helps preserve jawbone. We will explain which fits your mouth, timeline and budget at the consultation.
Does getting a crown or bridge hurt?
The teeth are numbed with local anesthetic. Some sensitivity afterward is normal and settles. Sedation dentistry is available if dental visits make you anxious.
What materials do you use?
Porcelain and zirconia crowns are shade-matched to your natural teeth and are our usual choice. Porcelain fused to metal is still used in some situations, and we will explain when it makes sense.
How much do crowns and bridges cost in Arlington, TX?
Cost depends on the material, the number of teeth involved and whether other treatment is needed first. You receive a written estimate before any work begins, and our team checks what your insurance covers.
